4th Wednesday Workshop- "Trauma and Therapy: Finding and Building a Relationship with Your Therapist"

Picture
Many survivors of childhood trauma do not become aware of their traumas until they manifest as negative feelings later in life. Many trauma survivors may struggle to feel comfortable opening up to a new therapist. Some survivors may not know how to find a therapist and others may not be unaware of the various types of trauma therapies available.
Working with an effective therapist can help manage trauma symptoms that emerge later in adulthood. Join the Trauma-Informed Communities Throughout Allegany County Coalition as we welcome local therapists to a panel discussion on the importance of trauma informed care for both the clinician and those they serve.
Individuals will:
Learn more about different trauma-informed treatments and therapies.
Identify how to find the right therapist for your needs.
Learn about the physical and mental responses to trauma and how clinicians approach them.
Gain understanding on a clients’ rights and responsibilities in therapy.
Recognize when therapy is right for you.
